Missionaries - Aries Liboro

Aries was born in San Jose, Occidental Mindora in April, 1973. When he was twelve years old, his family migrated to the UK where his father worked as a chef. He studied under the auspices of the Business and Technician Education Council and received a National Diploma in Engineering. But as things turned out the Lord had other plans for him.

Even before the family’s migration to the UK, his mother was a Christian. She would take her children, including Aries, to a church in Occidental Mindora where Aries first heard the gospel, and at a young age became a believer in Christ. In the UK, the family attended and became members of a church which historically was a strict and particular Baptist Church, here Aries grew under a conservative and Calvinistic ministry of the Word. He counts his former pastor as a major influence for his adoption of a Calvinistic understanding of the doctrine of salvation. Aries has known backsliding and renewal and has received training in UK, Florida and Cubao.

In 1997, while attending a conference in England, Aries met Pastor Brian Ellis, and learned of Grace Ministerial Academy in the Philippines. It was at this point that he began contemplating going back to the Philippines primarily to train, and also to explore the possibilities for ministry. Arranging for a few months in the Philippines, those few months solidified the conviction that this was where the Lord was calling him – to train and minister.

Aries was married in June 2002 to Jodith (a member of Cubao Reformed Baptist Church) and they have two children, Kieron born in December 2004 and Anamika born in September 2009.

Aries graduated from his course at Grace Ministerial Academy in 2002. Under the guidance of the elders of Cubao Reformed Baptist Church, Aries is now pastor of a church working amongst the poor communities of Malinta, Valenzuela City, Philippines (Northern Manila). Aries continues to serve this independent local church, Valenzuela Reformed Baptist Church, teaching in the adult Sunday School classes, Bible studies, leading the worship services and preaching. He has recently been appointed as Moderator of the region’s Association of Grace Baptist Churches.

This is the latest picture we have of Aries taken about 3 years ago. They have a daughter since then and we are currently awaiting an up to date photo of them all.
